Job overview
South Lanarkshire Council schools have recently undergone an £800m+ modernisation programme. We have invested significantly in modernising school buildings and this project is believed to be the largest and most progressive in the UK.
The agenda now is to provide high quality education which will inspire learners, transform learning and strengthen communities.
During this time we have built and modernised numerous Primary and Secondary Schools. It is our mission to make positive meaningful changes in the lives of young people. We aim to provide an exceptional learning and working environment for pupils and staff and work in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals.
If you want to teach in modern schools which are suited to delivering a 21st century curriculum we are looking for you to join us. We are the fifth largest local authority in Scotland and we want to harness the passion and commitment that you have for teaching – so why not come and join us.
We are now inviting applications from Fully Qualified (GTCS) Biology Teachers.
You will assist in the delivery of the curriculum and contribute to whole school initiatives, as appropriate and will carry out the range of duties outlined in Annexe B of "A Teaching Profession for the 21st Century".

Education Scotland
“Most lessons were well planned and teachers gave clear instructions. In the best lessons teachers increased pupils’ motivation by sharing the purpose of lessons with them. Most teachers provided a range of appropriate activities to stimulate and maintain the interest of pupils… The quality of pupils’ learning experiences was good overall. Pupils felt that they were safe and were encouraged to play a full part in the life of the school.”
