We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and inspiring teacher, who can consistently teach good or outstanding lessons, to join our large and high performing Faculty of PE, Sport & Dance. You will be able to enthuse and motivate with your passion for Physical Education and creative dynamic teaching, presence and personality. The successful candidate will be required to contribute to the teaching of predominantly Boys’ with some Girls’ Physical Education throughout the Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 including vocational and examination courses in Physical Education, Sport, Dance and Public Services.

You will be joining a vibrant, hardworking faculty that are committed to ensuring successful outcomes for our students. At KS4 we currently offer AQA GCSE PE, NCFE Level 2 in Health and Fitness and Edexcel BTEC Level 1/2 Sport, whilst post-16 courses currently include AQA A-level PE, BTEC Level 3 Sport and BTEC Level 3 Public Services.

In addition, we also offer a range of very popular and highly successful sports academies for our VIth Form students.  We are YST Lead School for Leadership, Coaching and Volunteering and have been awarded Leadership Academy Status by Sports Leaders UK. The faculty is well equipped and resourced, hosting various County events including Cricket, Netball, Rugby, the 2013 Cornwall School Games and the England Netball South West Regional Finals in January 2016. Our extensive facilities include Floodlit Multi Use Games Area, 12 Tennis Courts, 9 Netball Courts, substantial playing fields, fully equipped Fitness Suite, specialist Dance Studio, Indoor Climbing Wall, Sports Hall and Gymnasium.

PE and Sport play a significant part in CSIA life and are highly successful with both individual and team achievements at National, Regional and County level in wide range of sports. These include; Badminton, Netball, Cricket, Rugby, Swimming and Equestrian among others. The faculty offers an ever increasing range of opportunities in all of the major sports, as well as more alternative activities such as Surfing and Sailing. The school also runs an extensive Duke of Edinburgh programme, offering Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards. We also annually enter the Ten Tors event.  These programmes are open to all members of staff to become involved. Community links are strong and highly regarded within both the curricular and extracurricular programmes. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute fully to the provision of such opportunities.

Nexus Gifted Programme

The Nexus campus offers students who are especially able a chance to thrive and shine in their chosen fields of study. The Nexus Gifted Programme offers a bespoke curriculum designed to engage and challenge gifted learners. Alongside this specially designed curriculum, students experience a rich co-curricular programme that complements the curriculum and deepens and develops the scholarship of these students. Students keep a broad and balanced curriculum but can choose to specialise in STEM or Liberal Arts fields after Year 9.


The VI Form Academy

Our VI Form offers a wide range of A-Levels and equivalent courses. We are fortunate to attract students who wish to follow an academic pathway from Camborne and other local schools. VI Form numbers are growing steadily but class sizes are still maintained at a level where individual support can be readily offered.

Results are excellent with a 100% pass rate for the sixth consecutive year across a range of 27 A-Level subjects. Furthermore, the progress made by VI Form students places them in the top 10% of the country and the top state-funded Post 16 provider in Cornwall.


Cornwall School of Mathematics and Science (CSMS)

CSMS provides excellent specialist teaching and enrichment for the most ambitious A Level students in Cornwall, preparing them for the most competitive courses at the best universities in the UK.
