Royal Russell is an HMC/IAPS co-educational school with over 1000 pupils between the ages of 3 and 18, situated on a beautiful green campus of 110 acres in the Shirley Hills near Croydon. We have over 150 boarding students in the Senior School and are proud of our wonderful day and boarding facilities that rank amongst the best in the South of England. Our pupils, parents and staff experience a warm and friendly environment with strong pastoral care for every pupil alongside a comprehensive co-curricular and enrichment programme. Our vision is to provide an outstanding co-educational experience for children as the family school of choice. The Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) has recently judged the school as ‘excellent’ in all areas and in October 2018 we successfully passed a full ISI compliance inspection.

The Economics and Business Department offer a range of courses at GCSE, A Level and BTEC. Business GCSE is a popular option subject, running in at least three out of the four option blocks each year. In the Sixth Form we offer Edexcel Business A level and BTEC Diploma courses with great success together with Economics A Level. Many of our students go on to study a Business or Economics related degree course at university.

You will be enthusiastic and energetic in your approach and have a deep-rooted knowledge of BTEC Business enabling you to build upon the successes already enjoyed by the department. Our ideal candidate will have a strong university degree in an Economics or a Business-related subject, the ability to communicate with pupils as well as being an inspirational and forward-thinking practitioner. The Economics and Business department consists of a strong team of 7 teachers who teach across disciplines and qualifications.

This post is suitable for someone looking to work flexibly over the School week and the 0.4 fte can be adjusted to suit the needs of the School and successful candidate. We would be keen to understand the availability of candidates in their application statement.

Royal Russell is an Independent Day and Boarding School for boys and girls aged 3 to 18.

Royal Russell was founded in 1853 as a charity to look after orphans of families from the textile trades and is proud to have enjoyed Royal Patronage from its foundation, and for having Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as the School’s Patron during her reign.
