Start date: 1st September 2022

We are looking to appoint an inspirational and highly motivated teacher to work across our business and computing departments. The successful candidate will have good computing and/or business knowledge and take a keen interest in research behind teaching methodologies in the classroom. Computing is taught in all year groups and both Computing and Business Studies are popular options at GCSE. We require the successful candidate to teach GCSE Business Studies and KS3 Computing with the possibility of GCSE Computing for a teacher with experience and/or qualification in Computing.

The computing department ensures that all learners in Key Stage 3 use and develop a wide range of computing/ICT resources and tools confidently, flexibly and creatively across the school. There are 3 dedicated computer suites that are reliable, up to date and well resourced. In Key Stage 4 GCSE Computing and GCSE Business Studies are well established, with 6 classes of Computing and 7 classes of Business Studies across Years 10 and 11.

Curriculum trips are planned to support students' learning in business and computing, including links with local businesses and the community as well as National Cyber Security organisations.

The departments consist of a full time Head of Department and 4 teachers, including a Deputy Headteacher. The post would suit an experienced teacher or a newly qualified teacher who is able to contribute to the department with input on teaching practice and extracurricular experiences for our students. Support and continuing professional development will be available for the successful candidate to develop their subject knowledge in Computing or Business Studies dependent on the candidate’s knowledge and experience.

The post will provide an opportunity for a well-qualified and dynamic teacher to join a successful Art Department that is determined to excel, and to help the school in its journey from ‘Good’ to ‘Outstanding’.
