Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a teacher of Business Studies and Economics to join our very successful 11-18 school. You will inspire and teach students across KS4 and KS5. This post will be suitable for an NQT, however, applications will be welcomed from teachers with any level of experience. A teaching and learning responsibility point (TLR2b) is available for a professional who is looking to take more responsibility within a department. We expect the successful candidate to provide our students with first-class subject knowledge of the business world so that they can not only live by the Silicon Roundabout but also be part of its thriving success.

In terms of the overall school’s performance, the successful candidate will be joining one of the top non-selective schools in the country. In 2015, 78% of our Year 11 students achieved 5 A*-Cs including English and maths. Our 6th Form is in the top 15% of post 16 providers in the country. The behaviour of students is outstanding and the disciplined environment allows the teachers to focus on delivering great academic outcomes. Business Studies and Economics courses are very popular with our students at both GCSE and A level.

We are very ambitious in our aim to provide the best possible opportunities for our students. We set high standards for all professionals working at the school but we also provide a very strong net of support for both new and existing colleagues.

Central Foundation is:

  • an outstanding school (Ofsted, February 2015)
  • a school that is situated in a vibrant multi-cultural environment next to the ‘silicon roundabout’ on the edge of the City of London and with excellent transport links
  • not a typical boys’ school, over half the staff are female.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced criminal record check.

Please download an application pack from TES website or contact the school on 0207 017 3021 / e-mail obireka@cfbs.islington.sch.uk.

Applications should be sent to the school address FAO HR Manager or emailed to obireka@cfbs.islington.sch.uk.
