Job overview

We wish to appoint  a well-qualified, enthusiastic and innovative Business studies and IT specialist, either a newly qualified or more experienced teacher. A recruitment and retention allowance is available for a suitable candidate.

The Business Computing department at Trinity is staffed by a dedicated team of teachers who stay abreast of technology and how it can impact daily lives. The department prides itself on staying up to date and members are always willing to integrate new technology and developments into their teaching, pushing the department forward at all opportunities. We have 3 dedicated IT rooms for classes as well as bookable, reliable, laptops that can be used to assist with teaching. We use a wide range of software but predominately we are using Microsoft Office, Adobe Fireworks, Scratch and Dreamweaver and when programming we use the languages Python, HTML and CSS. The department is fully resourced with a fully fleshed out scheme of work that students find engaging and challenging and staff enjoy teaching. Due to the increase in popularity at KS4 and KS5 we need to add additional staff into the department.

Year 7 and 8 have IT lessons once a week, GCSE Business and Computing have 3 lessons per week and at A Level there are 5 lessons per week. The exam board we use for GCSE Business is Eduqas, for Computing it is OCR and for A Level we study the Cambridge Technical Level 3 in IT and BTEC Business.

Trinity is a successful and friendly 11-18 mixed comprehensive school of 1700 students; this includes a Sixth Form of just over 350.  We offer excellent induction, support and professional development.

Details and an application form can also be downloaded from the staff link on the school website www.trinity.cumbria.sch.uk
