Job overview

This is one of South-East Asia’s top-performing schools providing an exhilarating international education for approximately 2,000 boys and girls between the ages of 3 and 18 set in the context of the British System.  Growth and investment in the school continues, creating opportunities for outstanding teachers.

Fully-qualified teachers who have energy, enthusiasm and full commitment to the profession are invited to apply immediately.

This is an opportunity to join a strong team of teachers in a rapidly developing Business and Economics department, regularly achieving the very best outcomes with able students.  Business Studies and Economics are both very popular subjects in the school with around 100 students taking the IGCSE in Year 10 and Year 11 and around 90 taking the A-level in Year 12 and Year 13. Results are impressive: over 70% A* at A-level and 65% A/A* at IGCSE last year in Economics, with several students winning awards from the exam board for their performance. In Business Studies, students achieved over 40% A*-B grades at A level and 62% A/A* at IGCSE.  Furthermore, the interest in both subjects means a large number of students look to take Business and Economics related degrees at University level.

An excellent package of international benefits is offered, and teachers and families wishing to add an enriching dimension to their lives are warmly encouraged to find out more.  The school has the strongest of partnerships with Shrewsbury School UK (www.shrewsbury.org.uk) and enjoys a stunningly spectacular setting on the banks of Bangkok’s Chao Phraya river.

Interested teachers are strongly encouraged to submit applications immediately. Only completed Shrewsbury International School Application Forms will be considered and rigorous background checks including International Child Protection Certificate (ICPC) at enhanced level will be enforced.

Further details of the school including job descriptions, the application form and “how to apply” procedures are available on our school website at www.shrewsbury.ac.th

Shrewsbury International School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Shrewsbury International School Bangkok Riverside is one of South East Asia’s premier international schools, with a current enrollment of around 2,000 day students aged 3-18 years. Shrewsbury International School is located in Bangkok, Thailand. Although it is an independent school, it is closely affiliated to Shrewsbury School in the UK. Overseen by its Board of Governors, the School reflects, replicates and achieves the high quality of education offered by its British sister school. Shrewsbury School was founded in 1552, and has for 450 years been synonymous with academic excellence and rigour, found both in the classroom and beyond for the proper fulfilment of the potential of its pupils. As an enthusiastic and proactive partner, it encourages exchanges, engages in cross-curricular development and builds meaningful bridges designed to bring considerable benefit to the young on both sides of the world.

Our staff community includes over 300 teaching, support and operational personnel. We welcome applications from high calibre candidates wishing to contribute and develop in a prestigious and highly successful educational establishment.  Our staff are the School’s most important asset. We are committed to providing opportunities for all our staff to develop their professional skills and knowledge, and value the huge wealth of experience and international teaching perspectives they bring to our collaborative community of learners.

As part of a dynamic and ambitious community, we expect our staff to demonstrate an outstanding level of professionalism and dedication. All our staff must understand the value  that our programme of extra curricular activities brings to the school and our students, and that helping students reach their full potential often requires teachers to go above and beyond. It is this level of commitment and personal care that makes our teachers stand out. We are a firm safeguarding school.

In return, our teachers can expect all the benefits of working at a superb campus with outstanding facilities, and living in one of the most exciting cities in the world which is itself a gateway to all of the experiences and cultures to be enjoyed around South East Asia.
