Ashville College, Harrogate, is looking to appoint an inspirational Teacher of Chemistry to join the Science Department from September 2024.

The post-holder will be a well-qualified and dynamic teacher with the skill to teach the full ability and age range, including Chemistry to A Level and GCSE.

The successful candidate will have a real passion for Science and be constantly looking for innovative ways to share that passion with pupils of all ages. An ability to teach another Science would be an advantage.

Full and part time will be considered for this role which would suit both experienced teachers and ECTs.

Ashville College is a co-educational, independent school for day and boarding pupils aged 2–18. The college, set in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, comprises a pre-school, prep school and senior school with pupil numbers totaling around 870, 170 of whom are in the sixth form and 100 are boarders. The school is a registered charity, administered by Ashville College Trustees.

Ashville College was founded in 1877 as a boarding school for boys by the United Methodist Free Church. Expansion over the decades culminated in a merger with Elmfield College, Harrogate, in the 1930s, by which time Ashville was the largest private school in the north of England.   The most significant development came in 1982 when the school become co-educational.
