We require for September 2018 a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher of Chemistry who can ideally offer a second Science subject, to join our thriving department.  The role of Lead Teacher of Chemistry could be made available for an experienced and talented applicant. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills combined with the ability to motivate students, whilst retaining a sense of fun. Science is a popular subject throughout the years and a very popular option at GCSE level; we are looking for someone who will continue to inspire and challenge our young chemists. 

Science at Lewes Old Grammar School is an exciting investigation of people, events and social change that makes our contemporary world. The Science Department is dedicated to ensuring that pupils are given the opportunity to work practically in their Science lessons whilst being prepared in the fullest possible way for external exams. We strive to achieve this through a wide range of teaching and learning activities in the six modern and purpose built laboratories with some lessons for older students being carried out in classrooms.

About Lewes Old Grammar School

Lewes Old Grammar School is an independent, co-educational, all-through school in East Sussex. The historic town of Lewes has a population of 17,000 and is known for its annual bonfire festival. 

The school can trace its roots to an educational foundation started by Agnes Morley during the reign of Henry VIII. At its last inspection there were 509 pupils on the school roll, between the ages of 3 and 18.
