ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is to teach primarily A-level Chemistry with a small amount of BTEC Applied Science. This post would be well suited to a Chemistry specialist who is passionate about their subject and has a desire to teach post 16.
The Science department is a growing and successful part of an ambitious College, with highly dedicated and hardworking teachers. We are looking to appoint someone who will become an integral part of this dynamic team and will contribute to the high quality educational experience of learners.
The Science Department consists of a team of 8 teachers who are all experienced, fully qualified graduates. The department offers A level courses in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and BTEC courses in Level 3 Applied Science. There are approximately 600 students studying courses in Science and achievement is well above the national average with a high proportion of learners progressing to Higher Education. Courses are highly structured and learners consistently praise the level of support available.
The department is well resourced with 7 fully equipped laboratories. The Department has a team of 5 technicians and all laboratories include a computer with a projector and access to the College network. Laptops and computers are also available in the laboratories for learner use.
