Description

The British School of Almería, is an inclusive all-through school which provides a comprehensive, high-quality education to pupils from the ages of 3 to 18. Recently incorporated into the prestigious ISP group, we are now a well-established school which offers a British-based education to local and international students in a beautiful coastal area of Andalusia. The school is located one site and boasts bright, modern facilities. Our school has grown steadily over the last few years and we are now entering a new, exciting era as we look forward to expanding our existing student base and increase our prominence in the local region. 

We are currently seeking to appoint a passionate and enthusiastic Teacher of Chemistry, able to teach a wide range of groups and levels including KS3, GCSE and A Level . The ability to teach A Level Physics would also be a clear advantage. He/she would be expected to effectively plan and deliver stimulating and engaging lessons, clearly establish high standards for progress and learning and encourage and support their pupils towards achieving their own individual goals.

The successful candidate should be a strong team player with a clear vision of how they could further develop their role within a popular and successful  department. The chosen candidate should also have a practical and flexible approach to problem solving and constantly strive to improve upon the quality and diversity of the high quality learning which is currently offered in our thriving Science Department.

At the British School of Almería, we aim to provide our pupils with a wide variety of opportunities which allow them to gain new experiences through which they are able to discover and develop their individual talents and interests. As such, we expect all of our staff to be actively involved in all aspects of school life through their participation in extracurricular activities and in our programme of events and activities which are planned throughout the school year. We have a strong commitment to child-centred learning and to addressing the specific needs of each individual pupil so that they can each be guided and encouraged towards achieving their maximum potential. The successful candidate should have experience of teaching across the ability range and recognise the importance of providing effective pastoral care. As a British school, we follow an adapted English National Curriculum across our primary and secondary departments.

Initial interviews will be held by Skype with a face-to-face meeting for the successful candidate wherever possible.

The British School of Almeria is a mixed, British curriculum through school with sixth form in Spain, serving pupils from the age of 3-18. The school has a capacity for 750 students.
