Job overview

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational teacher of Robotics and Coding. This is a new post that will allow us to offer a new subject at Sandroyd ‘Coding and Robotics.’ Coding and Robotics will be studied every week by all pupils in the Prep School. We are also keen for the successful candidate to be able to support our evening clubs and activities. The successful candidate will want to embrace all aspects of a busy Prep School and empathise with Sandroyd’s core values.

As it is not possible to currently gain a PGCE specifically in Coding and Robotics, the post may be filled by a current DT, DL, ICT or Science teacher. We would also encourage graduates or experienced professionals who have relevant experience in this field and are looking to start their career in teaching. For the correct candidate, if required, we will be able to support them through their teaching qualification.

Any offer of appointment will be subject to satisfactory references and criminal record checks via the Disclosure and Barring Service. Letters of application should state what particular skills and attributes you can bring to Sandroyd School, brief details of how you fit the position, including specific details of experience and achievements, and any interests and hobbies.

The completed application form and your brief letter of application should be addressed to the Headmaster and sent via Miss Sarah Harding, Headmaster’s PA at Sandroyd School, Rushmore Park, Tollard Royal, Salisbury, Wiltshire. SP5 5QD or by email to sharding@sandroyd.com. Interested candidates should apply by 10am on Friday 28th May 2021. Interviews will be held at Sandroyd on Friday 11th June 2021, following a negative COVID lateral flow test.

Sandroyd Pre-Prep was purpose-built in 2004 in the original walled garden and is home to boys and girls aged 2-7.

Sandroyd School takes its name from Sandroyd House, the home of the Reverend L H Wellesley Wesle, in Cobham, Surrey. In 1888, he created a small coaching establishment for the sons of his friends who were due to go to Eton. Over the years, the school grew rapidly, changing its premises to its current location Rushmore House. The school is a charitable trust and is administered by its board of governors.
