St George Catholic College is an oversubscribed and growing college, with a proven track record of continued success. Saint George is currently ranked in the top 10% of schools nationally for progress and is the highest performing mixed school in Southampton from the 2019 summer results. Due to the continuing success of the college, and its continued growth, we have a vacancy for a Teacher of Computer Science & Business Studies for September 2020. 

The Computer Science and Business Studies faculty is highly successful and plays a key role in the college’s achievement. It delivers both GCSE Computer Science, BTEC Information Digital Technology, GCSE Business Studies and BTEC Business Enterprise. In 2019 100% of students achieved grades 5-9 in Computer Science and 100% achieved grades A*-C in the last year to study ICT CiDA.  89% achieved grades 4-9 for GCSE Business Studies and 100% for BTEC Business Enterprise. Both subjects are incredibly popular at the school hence the motivation to expand the team. The faculty has four dedicated ICT rooms with state of the art facilities and an additional classroom without computers. It’s supported by our ICT Technician and Network Manager. 

The right candidate would benefit from entering a supportive environment with a blend of skills, innovation and experience. We promote a positive Catholic ethos but there is no requirement to be Catholic to apply. The department’s track record in developing staff and achieving outcomes is second to none. We wish to appoint an outstanding practitioner who can offer vision, energy and creativity in the teaching of ICT & Business Studies. We would welcome NQTs, as well as more experienced teachers to apply.
