We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic member of staff to teach Computer Science and Business Studies across the school. If you are an effective practitioner with the ability to inspire and motivate students we would like to hear from you. 

Applications from new entrants to the profession are welcomed and excellent support is available for an NQT.

The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate the following abilities within both these subject areas:

Computer Science

An ability to inspire students creatively using practical evidence-led teaching, and an enthusiasm for new developments in the subject.

Candidates must be able to teach all key stages and abilities, delivering Computer Science at KS3 and GCSE and must be prepared to demonstrate an understanding of Python programming to at least KS4 level.  There is excellent provision available for staff to develop their skills in this area.  Other digital skills are warmly welcomed.

Business Studies

Have a passion and enthusiasm for the subject.  We are looking for a teacher who is able to use active learning strategies to bring the subject to life.  Candidates must be able to teach KS4 and KS5 Business Studies, and the ability to teacher Economics at these Key Stages is highly desirable.  Candidates should have an in depth knowledge of the subject, though support will be available to develop knowledge in this area if required.

Blue Coat is a successful and oversubscribed school in the heart of the city of Coventry.  As a Christian school our intake draws from both the local area and across the city and surrounding areas.  Consequently we have a diverse intake and a culturally thriving school. The school was graded 'Outstanding' in its SIAMS inspection and 'Good' by Ofsted in May 2023 with 3 'Outstanding' categories. Our most recent Progress 8 score was +0.42.  The vast majority of our students stay on into the sixth form and continue their studies.

We have a large and successful Post 16 provision with 350 pupils on average studying either A levels or Vocational Level 3 courses.  We have excellent rates of progression to universities, apprenticeships and employment.
