Tes is supporting the appointment of an excellent teacher of Computer Science to join a growing and successful Computer Science Department in a diverse and very popular school based in Barnet.
Computer Science is an increasingly popular subject at GCSE and A level, and they are looking to expand the department.
The school is looking for an enthusiastic and innovative teacher, with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to achieving high standards within a thriving department. The successful candidate will have a strong academic background and be an excellent classroom practitioner who is capable of inspiring and motivating students and who can confidently teach Computer Science at KS3 and GCSE level. An ability to teach at A level would be an advantage but is not essential. They aim for all students to study Computer Science in Years 7-9 and the subject is a popular option at GCSE and A level. Most of the school's A level students go on to study the subject at university.
The department is housed in a purpose-built block, equipped with up-to-date student computers and large touch-screen teaching displays. The Computer Science enrichment programme includes Coding Clubs, visits and participation in national computing challenges, including the British Informatics Olympiad.
