Townley Grammar School is an academically selective and socially responsible girls’ state grammar school with a coeducational Sixth Form. Located in the London Borough of Bexley, Townley was founded in 1937 and has over the years established a tradition of academic excellence, scholastic endeavor and lifelong learning. Computer Science is taught as an explicit subject from Year 7 and is offered at both GCSE and Advanced Level.

 In key stage 3 all students have 1 lesson a week of computer studies. It is very popular subject at both GCSE and A level. We ae very proud that Townley Grammar our students go against many of the national trends in relation to females studying Computer science – at present we have over 80 students in both the current year 10 and 11 studying computer science along with 30 in year 13 and 38 in year 12. It is vibrant department which offers a wide range of opportunities for students including visits to Bletchley Park and to Silicon Valley. The students are encouraged to participate in competitions. Through the introduction of new Key stage 4 curriculum there will also be the opportunity for students to select subjects which may include code and create, Digital futures, Esports, STEM Crest award.

We are looking for a forward thinking, inspirational practitioner to work collaboratively with colleagues, deliver outstanding lessons and to support in the development of the curriculum, raising academic achievement and ensuring all students make outstanding progress. 

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding, ambitious and inspirational teacher of Computer science The successful candidate will have expert subject knowledge and must be able to teach all Key Stages, including GCSE and A Level. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual who is suitably motivated and ready to share their expertise and experience with our brilliant young people

The post holder will be required to complete an enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) Check with appropriate barred list checks, or the equivalent, and must be eligible to work in the UK. All staff are expected to be committed to the Equal Opportunities Policy.
