Teacher of Computer Science

Required for September 2017 (would consider June 2017 for suitable candidate)

We are looking for an outstanding (or someone who has the potential to be outstanding) teacher, who is able to further develop and deliver Computer Science across both KS3 and KS4. You will have the ability to inspire and enthuse students in all aspects of computing, including programming. Some teaching of related subjects will also be required. Applications from NQTs will be actively considered.

Pool Academy is an inclusive 11-16 mixed comprehensive with an excellent reputation. Computer Science is an important part of the whole school curriculum, and is a popular choice amongst students. The department has been recognised nationally by being chosen as the Digital Schoolhouse for the south-west, supporting local primary schools in their teaching of Computer Science, and we are a Lead School in the Computing at School Network of Teaching Excellence.  The use of technology to support teaching and learning is becoming embedded in the Academy with iPads for every student. The Academy has won many awards for our innovative use of ICT; most recently ‘Outstanding Use of Technology in Education Award 2016’.
