Job overview

We wish to appoint for September 2018 a lively and enthusiastic teacher of Computer Science/ Information Technology. The successful candidate will work within an outstanding faculty which is recognised for its excellence in the teaching of Business Studies, Computer Science and IT.

Applications are welcomed from both soon to be qualified teachers with outstanding potential, and also teachers with experience, looking to take on the exciting challenge of helping to teach both the Computer Science and IT courses in our KS4 curriculum. The vision of the Faculty is to build upon the recent progress being made by introducing Computer Science into our Sixth Form teaching for 2019, in order to complement our varied selection of KS5 courses, and so there is the potential but not the requirement, for the successful applicant to contribute to sixth form teaching in both disciplines. All applicants must display those key personal qualities required during this period of change – a commitment to do what it takes for the benefit of our students and to work flexibly, showing a high level of personal resilience.

The successful candidate will be able to enthuse our students in their learning of Computer Science and IT and contribute to improving their life chances through ensuring they learn the necessary skills to succeed in this exciting and relevant subject area. As an enthusiastic and dynamic teacher, you will be able to demonstrate the ability to motivate our students to work hard and deliver outstanding outcomes.

Alleyne’s Academy is a popular 13-18 comprehensive school judged “Good” in our two most recent OfSTED inspections. The school is well-regarded within the community and has a reputation for high quality teaching.
