Taverham High School is a popular and successful 11-18 academy on the outskirts of Norwich. The school was substantially redeveloped under the PFI in 2007 and we became an academy in April 2013; our facilities are first-class.
We are seeking to appoint a committed and dynamic Teacher of Computer Science to join our small and enthusiastic department who can bring creativity and a range of skills to the subject. As a Teacher you must be able to inspire and motivate students; be committed to making a difference to the lives of young people; to raising standards, expectations and achievement and be able to think strategically and creatively.
You should have up-to-date knowledge of developments in the Computing and ICT specifications as well as being an excellent classroom practitioner with the passion for students to flourish under your guidance. A solid working knowledge of algorithm design and programming in Python would be highly beneficial.
Computer Science is taught throughout KS3 in order to prepare our students for KS4 options where the subject is a popular choice at GCSE. Computer Science is also being introduced at KS5 for the first time this year and potential candidates should feel confident in teaching to this level.
