Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Teacher of Computer Science to join a growing department and play a key role in the subject’s continued development, identity and evolution.

It’s an exciting time to join St Edward’s as we are offering Computer Science for the first time this year, presenting plenty of scope for you to contribute to the growth of the department and shape facilities.

You will also be teaching students who are hugely excited by the chance to study Computer Science, delivering well-planned, engaging and challenging lessons and working with them on an exciting array of projects, stretching their knowledge and skills.

You will also contribute to ToK, EE or EPQ candidate supervision. You will also be fully supportive of the School’s academic vision and pedagogical principles.

You will need to be a well-qualified teacher, with a good degree from a recognised university. Experience of working with children or young people, and, in most cases, a post-graduate teaching qualification is equally important.

Experience of teaching IB, while desirable, is by no means essential.

Benefits available at St Edward's

St Edward’s operates its own pay scale and makes pension provision through the Aviva Pensions Trust for Independent Schools (APTIS). Other non-contractual benefits include health insurance, membership of the Nuffield Health Fitness & Wellbeing Gym and assistance with school fees. Accommodation may be available close to the School in North Oxford.

For further information and to apply please click the apply button.

The deadline for applications is 8.00am on Friday 10th February 2023.

Interviews will take place on Thursday 23rd February 2023.

St Edward’s School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to enhanced DBS and other checks in line with safer recruitment best practice.
