Job overview

Teacher of Computer Science (Full time)

To start January 2022

We are looking for a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher with a passion for Computer Science. This subject was introduced at Wrekin as a GCSE and an A Level in 2019 and since then pupil uptake has been strong.  We have also recently introduced Creative iMedia as a GCSE option (since September 2021), which has proved equally popular with pupils. Applications from candidates with experience of teaching Creative iMedia in addition to GCSE and A Level Computer Science are therefore particularly welcome.

The successful candidate will be an inspirational subject teacher, with initiative, good communication skills, and a willingness to contribute as part of an outstanding Computer Science team.  The ability to teach Cambridge Nationals in Creative iMedia would be an advantage but is by no means essential. This post would suit both a newly qualified or a more experienced teacher.

Wrekin College is a busy school set within its own attractive and spacious grounds.  A willingness to be fully involved in the school’s co-curricular programme and the whole life of the school is important. This will include Saturday morning activities and an evening boarding duty.  Accommodation may be available for the successful candidate.

Application forms and further details of the post are available from www.wrekincollege.com, the Human Resources Manager on 01952 265730 or by e-mail from hr@wrekincollege.com.  The completed forms with full curriculum vitae and letters of application should be sent to hr@wrekincollege.com by Wednesday 1st December 2021.

Wrekin College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.  The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced disclosure and barring list check.
