We are now looking for a Computer Science Teacher at Maiden Erlegh School in Earley. This is a high-achieving, over-subscribed secondary school which is as committed to the welfare of students and staff as it is our high standards.  One of the privileges of joining our school is working with our dynamic, ambitious and positive students. At KS4, we offer AQA Computer Science and OCR Cambridge iMedia.  The subjects are popular with students and the take up at GCSE has been good.  We primarily teach coding skills using Python 3 as our primary GCSE language, however, others are taught in the Foundation Stage.

The Department has five main computer rooms, all with printers, interactive whiteboards and approximately 25 machines in each room.  Additional computer rooms are available around the school site, along with the Follow Me printer facility.  

We are a Google Classroom school and use SIMS and Netsupport to support our classroom computer management and monitoring within all computer rooms.  The school provides Office 365 accounts for staff and students.

Professional development is also a strength here, thanks to our Teaching School. We offer a flexible CPD programme which staff can tailor to their own needs which includes coaching and training for new entrants to the profession and to support career returners. We are very happy to discuss flexible working arrangements including part-time working and job-sharing.

The school is the founder school of Maiden Erlegh Trust which offers a range of career opportunities in our vibrant and successful schools situated. We have a proven track record of supporting ambitious staff to middle and senior leadership posts and our can offer Specialist Leader of Education and school improvement opportunities to the right candidates
