Job overview
FULL OR PART TIME TEACHER OF COMPUTER STUDIES/BUSINESS STUDIES
Required from September 2018
We require someone to teach Computer Studies (KS3) and Business Studies (KS4) from September 2018. We would however consider applications from candidates for just part time Computer or Business Studies.
At Key Stage 3 pupils currently receive a timetabled weekly period specific of Computer Studies. Ability to teach KS4 Computer Science would be an advantage. We follow the OCR syllabus. In Business Studies we follow the Edexcel specification and are looking for the candidate to take GCSE Business Studies (ability to teach at ‘A’ level would be an advantage). Both departments are well resourced.
Wirral Grammar School for Girls is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Applicants for this post must be willing to undergo child protection screening, including reference checks with previous employers and an enhanced criminal record check with DBS.
Application forms and all further details can be found on the school website under Vacancies. www.wirralgirls.co.uk. Applicants are also encouraged to make an appointment to visit the school in action.
Please also include a letter of application and c.v. Your application should also include names and address and where possible e-mail addresses of two referees.
Please return application to hb@wirralgirls.co.uk

A message from the Headteacher
Welcome to Wirral Grammar School for Girls. We have been a
Grammar School educating girls aged 11-18 since 1931 and now have just over 1200 students, 300 of them in the sixth form.
The school is proud of its history of academic success and our results are consistently high, well above the national average with 75% 9-7 grades at GCSE and 75% A*-B grades at A Level. The school has topped the local and national league tables for the past fifteen years. We have recently received an 'outstanding' judgement from Ofsted (December 2022).
The school offers an inclusive learning community, with the highest standards of teaching and learning, where there is a lively buzz of activity and curiosity in the classroom. Girls are also provided with an enrichment programme to extend their learning outside the classroom, through clubs/societies and various leadership opportunities.
We have always fostered traditional values, notably self-discipline, community spirit and thoughtfulness for others resulting in outstanding relationships at the school.
Our pastoral care ensures students are well-supported and are guided through their journey at school. Wirral Grammar School for Girls is a vibrant learning community where everyone is valued and a culture of mutual respect exists.
We hope you enjoy visiting our school at open evening and if you have any questions, please do ask a member of staff.
Jenny Ogunmyiwa
