This is a great opportunity to join the Computing and Business Department in a highly successful academy.
Computer Science, Creative Media and Business are very popular subjects at GCSE. The department is well-resourced and has a dedicated team of experienced colleagues who are committed to ensuring the highest possible learning experience for the students at Moor End Academy.
The Computing and Business Department currently consists of three full time teachers and an administrative assistant. Computing is part of the core curriculum in years 7 – 8 and is taught as a discrete subject. In years 9, 10 and 11 students follow AQA GCSE Computer Science, Edexcel GCSE Business and BTEC Creative Digital Media. The department is committed to teaching computing and business concepts and issues through high quality and exciting lessons and learning strategies.
The Academy is accredited by the Edward de Bono Foundation as an official Centre for Creative and Critical Thinking and these skills are at the centre of our teaching. Students enjoy Computing and Business, they respond positively to our imaginative and stimulating approach.
This is a great opportunity for you to come in with some creative, imaginative ideas to help build the open element of the curriculum from Year 7 through to Year 11. Curriculum enrichment is an integral focus of Computing and Business with students partaking in a variety of activities and competitions both locally and nationally.
As a teacher of Computing and Business in an Outstanding Academy, a wealth of opportunities for personal and professional development will be open to you.
