Are you an experienced classroom practitioner looking for a new challenge in a new school? Do you have experience of teaching Computing and Maths? Does your enthusiasm and drive lead to excellent student progress? 

We are looking for an inspiring, motivated and enthusiastic teacher who would love to be part of our journey at The Barlow and could be instrumental in making a difference to our student’s education. 

The successful candidate will join a strong, enthusiastic and innovative team of teachers in an experienced and outstanding Computing Faculty who aim to engage all pupils in learning using fast, reliable and current media. The faculty offers a broad curriculum including Computer Science, IT and Business.  

In addition, you will also join a friendly and supportive Maths faculty who are committed to sustaining and improving results and are continually striving to improve the provision for Mathematics at all key stages. You will be required to teach the cyclic curriculum across all ability sets and year groups up to and including GCSE level and will make a key contribution to driving up standards and attainment within the Faculty. 

You should:

• Have a proven track record of success in the classroom at all key stages. 

• Have a “Good” or better record from observations in the classroom

• Have the adaptability to hit the ground running

• Possess the ability to inspire, challenge and motivate pupils;

• Play an active role within the school and the wider community; 

• Be pro-active with the ability to act on your own initiative and supportive of the faculty drive to enable all children to achieve their full potential.

About our School

The Barlow is a highly successful, mixed, 11-16 Catholic comprehensive.  In June 2019, Ofsted judged our school to be ‘Good’ in all categories.  Public examination results are strong; above national average in most subject areas.  We are a diverse and inclusive community, with high standards of pupil behaviour and a calm and purposeful learning environment.  The school is located in Didsbury, a popular area of south Manchester, with excellent transport links.
