Downe House Riyadh is flourishing and growing rapidly since opening in September 2022 We are a premium British International school admitting boys and girls from Nursery to Year 4 and girls only from Year 5 to 13. Downe House Riyadh is a British Curriculum school, following the EYFS framework, English National Curriculum, International GCSEs and A Levels, adapted in places to the needs of our vibrant international community in Riyadh.

Our extended school day, co-curriculuar programme and school trips offer are as important as the Academic rigour of our curriculum. To be our perfect candidate, you need to be excited and committed to the holistic development of our pupils and the time this takes.

The Person

The successful candidate will be someone who:     

  • can deliver a well-planned, engaging and creative learning experience for their pupils.     
  • can deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated programme for all pupils in their care. 
  • always set high expectations, which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils.     
  • ensures excellent pastoral care.     
  • contributes to the co-curricular programme and whole-school activities in a committed and enthusiastic manner.     
  • works co-operatively and supportively with all members of staff.     
  • has a growth mindset, positive and flexible attitude and is prepared to go the extra mile.
  • is qualified and experienced in delivering IGCSEs and A Levels in their subject
  • holds a UK (or equivalent) teaching qualification (e.g. BEd, PGCE, QTS) and substantial experience of teaching in a British curriculum school.

The Structure of Downe House Riyadh will be:

Pre-Prep:          Nursery to Year 2 (2-7 years of age)

Prep:                 Year 3 to Year 8 (7-13 years of age)

Senior:              Year 9 to 13 (13-18 years of age)

Boys as well as girls will be admitted from Pre-School to Year 4.

Downe House Riyadh has a state-of-the-art campus housing some of the finest school facilities in Saudi Arabia. These include dedicated libraries, central atriums, Science Labs, Art and Design Labs, a 450-seat theatre, music, dance and drama studios, classrooms and practice rooms, IT labs, and indoor senior and learner swimming pools.
