Closing date:

King James I AcademyDurham, County

Date posted:
Start date: September 2019
Contract type: Full Time
Salary: Undisclosed
Contract term: Permanent
Suitable for NQTs: Yes

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational teacher with the ability to undertake a leadership role within the Computing and STEM areas of the curriculum. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise and commitment to teaching and learning in Computing and STEM. They will focus relentlessly upon giving students opportunities for success both within and beyond the classroom as well as providing stimulating and engaging learning experiences. We are looking for an individual with the potential and ambition to take a significant role in developing mastery amongst students. The successful candidate would consider Computing, as opposed to ICT, to be their specialist area, and will have the flexibility to effectively lead staff within the areas of Computing, STEM, Robotics and Programming. We are keen to appoint a teacher who can not only deliver the highest quality learning opportunities to students, but can also bring an innovative and adaptable approach to leadership.

The successful candidate will have the skills and attributes required to be a leader within their subject specialism and, whilst this role may suit an experienced teacher, we will also consider applications from NQT’s and less experienced practitioners- we believe in giving young and inexperienced staff opportunities which allow rapid career development and recognise that inexperience does not always mean that effective leadership cannot be achieved. You will be able to inspire and motivate colleagues and students alike. You will be supported through a bespoke and individually tailored induction or NQT programme as well as being given opportunities and support for further career and professional development.

Closing Date: Monday 14th January (Mid-Day)
