Are you looking for a vibrant, forward thinking school with a supportive Senior Leadership Team?
Would you like to work in a modern, well-equipped state of the art Academy?
If you have answered yes to these questions, The East Manchester Academy would love you to join us!
The East Manchester Academy is a vibrant and innovative educational community in the heart of Beswick, and is a member of the Education and Leadership Trust with Whalley Range 11-18 High School and Levenshulme High School.
We are currently recruiting for a dynamic Teacher of Computing/Computer Science who is a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher who is a passionate classroom practitioner with the interests of the students at heart and who can add value to the whole department.
At The East Manchester Academy, the Digital Communication Department is well resourced with three dedicated computer suites and each room has an interactive whiteboard and software to control and monitor the student’s computers. The department makes use Google Classroom and the VLE to set and collect work from the students. Lessons centre around enquiry, problem solving and developing confidence in the subject, homework is regularly set to extend and consolidate research conducted within lesson.
The faculty aims to give students a clear focus on the understanding of how a computer works. This knowledge allows them to gain a deeper understanding of how systems work. There is a strong emphasis on the students using different programming languages to produce their own outcomes, this we believe allows students to become fully autonomous with their learning and provides a clear opportunity for creative freedom. Studying this prepares the students with the knowledge and skills that they will need for study in Key Stage 4.
