Would you like to work at a school recently rated “Good” and on it’s way to “Outstanding”? 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed Teacher of Computing to join the faculty at Wardle Academy. We wish to appoint a well-qualified, dynamic and inspirational teacher who has a passion for developing students’ love of IT systems, processes, programming and package usage, to give them the undeniably critical ICT skills needed for any workplace. We require individuals with the potential to be exceptional. You will maximise the potential of our students by raising their aspirations as well as their attainment.

Wardle Academy is part of the Watergrove Trust. The Trust is situated in the West Pennine area, where community and faith schools work in partnership to serve our diverse local area. We share the same drive and determination to promote the best possible academic standards, whilst developing young people of unique character, preparing them for their lives ahead.

Wardle Academy is located in a semi-rural setting serving the local community. The Academy is easily accessible, within close proximity to the M62 motorway and Smithy Bridge train station.

The successful candidate will have the ability to deliver a curriculum experience. You will have high expectations of students.

This post would be suitable for both experienced and newly qualified teachers.

Wardle Academy was inspected by Ofsted in October 2022 and judged to be good in all aspects. We are determined to carry on improving. An essential part of this is the training and development of staff; we encourage our colleagues to seek courses and opportunities which will help them advance the Academy whilst also providing them with enhanced skills, knowledge and career prospects. 


We are looking for someone who is:

  • Passionate about the quality of education our young people experience
  • Somebody who thrives on responsibility and hard work, and wants to develop themselves
  • Able to use your own initiative 
  • Willing to go the ‘extra mile’ for our young people
  • Able to teach Computing at Key Stage 3 and at Key Stage 4
