Would you like the opportunity to teach in an exceptionally successful PE and Dance department? Beaconsfield High School was rated one of the top twenty state schools in the country in relation to our success in school sport in 2016 and has a thriving dance department running alongside this.
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, creative and ambitious individual to be our dance specialist in a strong and vibrant Physical Education department. The post would suit an NQT or an experienced teacher who is seeking part time employment. Full time employment is available for a candidate able to offer PE teaching (Hockey, Netball, Gymnastics or Athletics) in addition to Dance.
The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to teach dance to students of all abilities across key stages 3 and GCSE dance at KS4. You need to foster a collaborative approach, be prepared to work as a member of a team, have good inter-personal skills and deliver lessons that will inspire our learners to succeed. You should have an understanding of what makes an outstanding and successful learning environment for students of all abilities in the dance field. We are seeking to appoint an individual who can provide opportunities in an enthusiastic and enjoyable environment, while offering the opportunities for progress along the pathway to excellence for our more talented students.
The Dance curriculum is well supported by an extensive extra-curricular programme offered both at lunchtime and after school. Dance clubs encourage a large membership irrespective of ability, but from the clubs, students are selected to join advanced dance groups who have further training to prepare them for the annual Dance Show. Dance is a unique selling point of Beaconsfield High School and the success of our Dance Show involving over 300 students and a range of dance styles is the perfect way to show case all of the dance talent and ability fostered at Beaconsfield High.
We are therefore seeking to appoint a candidate that will be willing to participate fully in the programme of extra-curricular activities and essentially one who has experience of teaching dance, including GCSE, to a high standard.
