We are a proud member of the Hope Learning Trust family of schools along with our coastal partner George Pindar School. We are inclusive school with a healthy intake in Year 7 and we have the highest aspiration for our students to achieve their very best and grow both as individuals and as members of their community.  The development of the whole child forms an integral part of our vision; we want the best for every student at Graham School irrespective of their background.  We value honesty, high expectations and aspirations, resilience and we work together as #Team Graham.

Our opportunity

We are looking to appoint a talented Teacher of Dance to join our Arts and Wellbeing Faculty to cover maternity cover from March 2021. Dance is an important part of our creative curriculum offer at Graham, and we currently offer the BTEC Technical Award for Performing Arts at KS4 and a tailored curriculum at KS3.

Due to curriculum need you will also teach some KS3 Drama/Music alongside teaching Dance up to BTEC Level 2

We are proud to be one of the few schools across the area that offers Dance at KS3 and KS4.  Our improving results at KS4, and active involvement in the Rock Challenge are testament to our talented students.

We welcome interest from colleagues at all levels. Experienced colleagues and those in early career stages are welcome to apply, what is important is the ability to enthuse children with your passion for Dance.

Our motto is ‘Grow, Learn and Achieve together’ and our aim is that all our students thrive and make good academic progress whilst developing into resilient, confident and respectful young people.

In March 2019 we joined the Trust along with our coastal secondary partner, George Pindar School. The Trust is a growing, successful Church of England multi-academy trust which was established to serve both church and community schools. The Trust’s vision is “serving others, growing together, living life to the full”. We are committed to servant leadership in each of our schools and we are dedicated to the journey of growing together as a family of schools. We want all of our children to have a rich educational experience which will develop them as young people and allow them to flourish.

Graham School is a community in which our teaching and support staff are incredibly passionate about teamwork.

Staff morale is high and we have a commitment to recognise individual potential and to provide support, CPD and training for colleagues joining our organisation at all levels; you will never feel unsupported or alone in our Trust.

We all ‘Grow at Graham’ and all colleagues at all levels are working together to raise aspirations and support our students to make the progress they deserve. The school has a shared sense of purpose and a vision for success which inspires me on a daily basis. If you are appointed, you will join a truly committed body of professionals who really care about our young people.
