Are you an outstanding teacher of Design & Food Technology with the passion and motivation to inspire young people? We are looking for a passionate and energetic teacher who can work with us to strive for excellence. This is an exciting opportunity to join a school on an ambitious journey of transformation, where you can use your experience, subject expertise and vision to make a difference.

The Role

We are seeking to appoint a skilled and enterprising teacher of Design & Food Technology.   Our current Technology offer is Catering, and is a popular subject with a diverse range of students at both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. We are keen to broaden our students’ experience of a wider range of Technology specialisms and invite candidates with diverse expertise to apply.

The successful candidate will be a highly committed team player, with a passion for all the Design Technology disciplines and understand the strategies required to motivate and inspire students. We are looking for someone to teach across the ability range at KS3 and KS4 and who understands the value of high quality assessment and uses this to drive planning and progress.   The successful candidate must be, or have the potential to become, an outstanding teacher and possess creativity, excellent interpersonal skills, and strong organisational abilities. Both new and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply.

The School is part of the BePART Educational Trust which was set up by Birkenhead Sixth Form College, an Ofsted Outstanding post-16 specialist, recently awarded TES Sixth Form College of the Year 2018. The School and the College work together collaboratively to share and develop educational best practice and create an inspiring culture with opportunities for career development. The Birkenhead Park School aims to achieve “Ambition and Excellence for All” and we are committed to providing the best possible education for every student. The School is driven by the values of Positivity, Ambition, Resilience, and Thoughtfulness, and building character is seen as a fundamental priority in securing our students’ future success.

In May 2017, Ofsted recognised the significant progress the School has made in its journey of transformation. This has been further confirmed by a recent visit from the DfE and all roles are key to the continued improvement of outcomes and the development of quality of teaching.

In addition to the opportunities for career development offered by being part of the BePART Educational Trust, we are the only school on the Wirral to be working in partnership with the Ambition Institute. This exciting new initiative is focused on developing our staff through high quality bespoke training that will support career development and offer a progression pathway to expertise.
