An exciting opportunity has arisen at Barking Abbey School for a Teacher of Design and Technology. The DT Department has a history of success and is constantly evolving its subject delivery. We are also looking for someone to take up responsibility for our KS3 Progress and Achievement and to sit in the position of 2 I/C for DT.
We are well equipped in terms of machinery and IT facilities allowing us to offer a diverse range of projects and courses. We rely upon a team based approach and therefore require a candidate who work well in a team.
The candidate will be expected to be a model of excellent practice. The successful candidate must be able to teach across key stages 3 and 4 and would ideally have experience with teaching 2D and 3D CAD. Some experience of teaching food technology and or Hospitality would be a benefit.

- Blind shortlisting by a panel against the Job description. Potential applicants are scored. Shortlisting by at least 3 people including one SLT.
- Shortlist for interview based on scores from shortlisting.
- Interview process will depend on role and may include; lesson observations, data or admin tasks, panel interviews, student panels and a final interview
- All assessed tasks are scored according to set criteria and scores are moderated to ensure consistency.
- All panel interviews and final interviews are scored. Each interview has a moderation process to ensure consistency of scores where appropriate. Questions are common to all applicants.
- Feedback is provided by a member of the panel.
