King’s School is currently recruiting for a teacher of Design Technology with QTS to join our growing school community. Your new department

The successful applicant will join a small, committed and experienced department, supported by a highly skilled technician. We are resourceful, creative and passionate about D&T and Food & Nutrition. We run annual enrichment visits to Thorpe Park and Harry Potter World so our students can experience design and engineering in action. Along with our colleagues in Science and Maths, we also put on enrichment activities and events to get students excited about and engaged in STEM, including taking part in the ‘Girls Do’ STEM conference. At our new permanent site, the Design and Technology department enjoy a suite of purpose built technology rooms and preparation spaces. From the spring of 2020 we will begin offering Food Technology, a new challenge for the department and one that we are looking forward to tucking into! 

Who are we? 

King’s School is an ecumenical Christian School in the Diocese of Chichester, affiliated to the Church of England. The school opened its doors to its first cohort of students in September 2013 and there are currently approximately 600 students in years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 with a team of over 60 teachers and support staff. In August 2019 we moved onto our new permanent site in West Blatchington. We are now the proud occupiers of a three-storey new build which has fully equipped, state of the art, facilities for teaching across the curriculum.
