Salary: United Learning Salary PT/EPT (+TLR for qualified and experienced candidate)

John Roan School- United Learning:

Thank you for your interest in working at The John Roan School. We are a large mixed secondary school which joined the United Learning group of schools in September 2019 and, supported by the expertise and guidance that has brought us, are rapidly improving outcomes for students. Ofsted graded us as a ‘Good’ school in October 2023 and as we continue our school improvement programme, we are looking for people who share our values and passionately believe that all children can achieve, no matter what their starting point, background, or needs.

The Role:

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated, experienced, and innovative Teacher of Design and Technology to join an ambitious and successful Creative Arts Department in our 11 – 18 school.

Are you the person to stretch, challenge, support, and inspire our students in and outside of the classroom? Do you share our ambition to inspire and engage students with your subject knowledge?

You will play an important role in passing on your subject knowledge through inspiring teaching to our students, ensuring that you can bring out the best in everyone.

We deliver a general Design and Technology syllabus to our Key Stage 3 students and at Key Stage 4 offer GCSE Graphics, CAMNAT Engineering, and GCSE Food and Nutrition. The successful candidate would be delivering the CANMAT Engineering to Years 10 and 11.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. References will automatically be requested for all shortlisted applicants prior to interview. The successful applicant will be required to be DBS and safeguarding checks prior to taking up post.
