Tes are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational Teacher of Design & Technology on a full-time permanent basis as soon as possible. Both experienced and newly qualified teachers are welcome to apply.

The school are seeking to appoint an inspirational Teacher who has a passion and enthusiasm for Design & Technology. The successful candidate will join an outstanding Design & Technology department. The DT department is well appointed with equipment and expertise and gets some of the best results in the school.  At Key Stage 4 the successful candidate will have the knowledge and experience to specialise in either Food, Product Design, Engineering or Textiles.

You Will Be Required To:

  • Be an inspiring and motivational teacher of Design Technology to all abilities ensuring learning is engaging and inclusive
  • Work with the Head of Faculty and in collaboration with other staff to develop schemes of work and a pathways curriculum
  • Assist in SEARCH days and opportunities in each year group as the school develops
  • Work within and contribute to the larger faculty
  • Contribute to whole school learning
  • Play an active role as a tutor within a vertical structure as outlined below
  • Ensure the behaviour management system is implemented in the subject area so that effective learning can take place
  • Create enrichment opportunities for DT

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Have achieved, or have evidence of being on track to achieve, Qualified Teacher Status
  • Have a recognised good honours degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
  • Have a secure knowledge and understanding of the curriculum areas and related pedagogy
  • An awareness of the contribution that the subject can make to cross curricular learning
