Job overview

Tes are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Teacher of Design & Technology on a full-time OR part-time permanent basis from January 2022. Both experienced and newly qualified teachers are encouraged to apply.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a secondary school that is at the heart of the community and their small school model ensures that each and every student gets the personal support and challenge they need to reach their full potential. Their judgement that they are a ‘Good’ school with ‘Outstanding’ leadership and behaviour is accurate. It is our vision to become ‘Outstanding’ in every category.

The school is part of a renowned trust that comprises 32 geographically organised academies (15 secondaries, 14 primaries and 2 special) educating 20,000 students, and employing 2,500 talented staff. The trust is establishing four ‘clusters’ of academies: North West Kent; Central Kent; South East London; Medway. In addition, the trust is responsible for one of the region’s biggest initial teaching training organisations, a large teaching school hub and is an accredited apprenticeship provider.

Design Technology is a popular subject and they have a cohort of over 120 students in Key Stage 4 and 15 A-Level students who they see flourish year on year when being taught by a passionate and engaging teacher.

The Successful Candidate:

  • Good honours degree and Qualified Teacher Status
  • Experience teaching across the key stages
  • Passionate about your subject and have the ability to motivate, support and enthuse students
  • Energetic with a 'can do' attitude

The School Offers:

  • Professional coaching and support
  • A bespoke CPD programme
  • Complementary holistic therapy to support staff wellbeing
  • Free use of a staff gymnasium
  • A thriving social and community ethos
