Lymm High School is a well-established, 11-18 school with over 1950 students (360 in the 6th form) and exceptional resources, including 28 acres of beautiful grounds, a swimming pool, leisure complex and our own residential centre in Anglesey. Rapid and sustained improvement over the past few years has led to some excellent results (Progress 8 of 0.54 in both 2019 and 2022) and a very positive Ofsted inspection a couple of months ago.

Lymm High School is also a lovely place in which to work; in addition to our good fortune with our physical surroundings, staff are exceptionally positive, committed and supportive. The potential here is immense and we are determined to keep moving forwards.

The DT department are a strong team who sit within the faculty of Art and Design. DT and Food are both taught at KS3 (Y7 to Y9). At KS4 we offer Design Technology and 3D design at KS5. The standard of work produced is incredible and reflects the strength of the department and skill of the students. Results have been consistently strong at both KS4 and KS5, In 2022 the progress score for DT was over +1. The faculty boasts an array of facilities including a laser cutter and 3D printer as well as full industry standard kitchens serving a small restaurant.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed team player, who has the ability to teach DT up to KS4, with an opportunity to teach at KS5 if the candidate is interested. The ability and willingness to teach Food at KS3 would be an advantage. This post would suit an ECT as well as someone who has already been teaching for a few years; we are as interested in your potential and determination to become a first class practitioner as we are in your experience to date.

 About Lymm High School

Lymm High School is a non-selective, co-educational, non-denominational secondary academy for children aged 11-18. It is situated in Lymm, Cheshire, and has just under 1,900 students on its roll, including nearly 360 in the sixth form. The school currently has an Ofsted rating of “good”. 

It is believed that Lymm High School was founded roughly 400 years ago. The earliest known reference to the school is in a church document dated 1592, which mentions the "Master of Lymm School".
