Job overview

We are seeking a dynamic and committed professional to join our amazing school as a teacher of Art & Design Technology from September 2023 due to the retirement of the current post holder. You will be an ambitious, motivated and compassionate teacher committed to improving life chances for our students. The school is on a rapid improvement journey and you will need to be fully committed to investing time, effort and expertise with all teams at the school to further contribute to this journey. 

Both the Visual Arts and Design Technology Departments are small, friendly, supportive and collaborative teams with recently appointed Heads of Department. Design Technology (Resistant Materials and Food/Catering) is taught from Year 7 up to Year 11; we are hoping to expand our offer to better meet the changing needs of our students. Arts is taught up to A Level.

Because of the flexibility in our timetable, we are able to offer this position either as a full-time or part-time position. You may also be interested in teaching in a different subject as well, or offering Transition activities to our primary partner schools. This really is an exciting opportunity.

As part of this journey with us you will find it extremely rewarding personally and professionally; there can be significant barriers and challenges to overcome but our children, their families, the wider community and the school itself all deserve to have the very best people championing them whilst maintaining high standards. 

Although the role starts in September, if you are available sooner we are happy to explore this option. In addition, we offer Early Career Teachers the opportunity to start employment with us on 1 July 2023.
