Job overview

 Teacher of Design Technology

Full-time, permanent

To start from 1st September 2018, we are looking to appoint an exceptional teacher of Design Technology who will inspire and motivate students in this traditional ‘Outstanding’ Bath school (boys in the lower school, mixed in the Sixth Form). We are looking for someone who aspires to the unconventional and can stimulate a fascination in the subject both within and beyond the confines of the classroom. The successful candidate will have to demonstrate exemplary classroom practice , or potentially exemplary classroom practice in the case of an NQT applicant.

Design Technology at Beechen Cliff is a traditionally strong and popular subject. Engagement in Product Design at GCSE and A level is good with some excellent examination results. The Faculty also teaches NCFE’s Level 1 Creative Craft courses in Wood and Cookery. The successful candidate will be expected to teach Technology at KS3, Product Design at KS4 and KS5 and Level 1 Creative Craft.

The School has a vibrant extra-curricular life which includes sport, music, debating and public speaking. A willingness to contribute will be a clear advantage. Further details are available on the website or from the Headmaster, Mr A Davies, to whom a completed application form and letter should be sent by noon on Monday 12th March 2018. Interviews are currently planned to take place on Wednesday 21st March.
