Teacher of Design Technology

We are seeking to appoint a highly skilled colleague to join our successful and friendly school. We are very proud of our community at Midhurst. We are an 11-19 United Learning Academy with a roll of 1148, including 120 in Key Stage 5. The College is currently oversubscribed and we are expecting our student numbers to grow over the next three years to over 1350.

Midhurst Rother College is an outstanding (Ofsted, May 2013) school situated in a modern, eye-catching and fantastic building – there really are very few schools quite like it. We are situated in the South Downs National Park in the beautiful and picturesque village of Midhurst, with easy transport links to Chichester (25 minutes) Portsmouth (35 minutes), Guildford (30 minutes) and Worthing (45 minutes). Brighton is under an hour away from us.

We are seeking a dynamic teacher of D&T (Product Design and a second subject preferably Food) to join our excellent Art, Design and Technology Faculty. We are a school that values practical and creative subjects; all students learn Product Design, Textiles and Food (over a 3 year rotation of 4 hours a fortnight) at Key Stage 3. Our creative subjects are popular at Key Stage 4 Edexcel Product Design, WJEC Hospitality and Catering and Art and Design Textiles. At KS5 we teach, Edexcel Product Design, WJEC Food and Nutrition and Art and Design Textiles. We have excellent subject specific facilities where students are able to develop their skills, creativity and subject knowledge. We have outstanding results, an annual ADT exhibition to showcase the outstanding creativity and a fun packed, engaging activities week. We run regular trips and competitions in all subject areas. Therefore, candidates should have excellent subject knowledge, skills and enthusiasm to teach across the board in DT, GCSE and A level and advantage, ECT candidates are welcome to apply.
