Job overview

Peter Symonds is a vibrant sixth form college in Winchester which has been rated by Ofsted as ‘outstanding’ in every respect. We have a large team of committed and talented staff who are at the heart of the success of the College.

The CTEC Digital Media Diploma department is a relatively new addition to the highly successful Media and Film subject areas at the College.  Formed in 2018, the department has quickly established itself as offering a more practical, dynamic, vocational route for students interested in pursuing careers in the media and creative industries.  There is currently one full time member of staff, one part time staff member and two full time media instructors who contribute to an extensive practical camera and edit training programme to prepare and support students with their production of television, film, advertising, music video and radio products.

We seek a new member of the team to join us on a part time basis (expected to be 0.5 FTE), who has a passion and enthusiasm for the subject and an ability to share that with our students. You will have a degree related to digital media or significant work experience as a practitioner in the media/creative industries. You will have excellent technical skills and a rapport with the 16 – 19 age group.

Please note that posts advertised to start in September 2021 actually commence with student enrolment at the end of August.  Teaching staff are required to work this week but should you have an existing commitment please make this clear on your application and we will honour it.

Closing date:  12 noon on Monday 19 April 2021

Interview date: Thursday 29 April 2021

Our staff undertake regular safeguarding and Prevent training and are subject to ongoing safeguarding scrutiny.
