Teacher of Drama & Theatre (secondary)
We are looking for an experienced and inspiring teacher to join our team from August 2018. To deliver our high standard of educational excellence, our teachers are well-qualified, confident, well-organised, have a good sense of humour and participate fully in all aspects of school life within and beyond the classroom. We are now looking for a like-minded colleague to join our Performing Arts Department in the Secondary School in the next exciting phase of its development.

Currently drama is taught within a drama-music rotation at KS3. We now need expand our provision so that drama is a stand-alone subject within KS3 and work towards the development to GCSE and beyond to IB Diploma Programme Theatre. Our collaboration with The Juilliard School in New York will provide exciting opportunities to connect with the world’s leading drama specialists and our newly opened state of the art theatre complements our drama studio to provide outstanding facilities. There is ample opportunity for performance the entire age range and most recently, we have performed Annie Jr in primary and Hobson’s Choice in secondary.

The Teacher of Drama & Theatre will work closely with the Director of Performing Arts and is a key member of the arts team of the school.  Together with the team, you will develop the role of drama and theatre in the timetabled curriculum and beyond to the school community. The Teacher of Drama & Theatre will demonstrate the highest standards of professionalism and will, in particular:

Inspire students to be passionate, curious, exited learners.
Embody the school’s mission in word and action;
Be passionate about international education;
Gain and maintain the trust and confidence of students, colleagues and parents;
Contribute to continuity with our Primary School and to the development of curriculum, pedagogy, and teaching across the school;
Motivate students and staff to aspire to excellence in all that they do;
Contribute to a strong, high-performing team of language teachers;
Take responsibility for safeguarding students;
Deploy resources with due diligence, with efficiency and effectiveness;
Help plan for the continual improvement of the Performing Arts Department.
The ability to teach music or English at KS3 would be an advantage.
