TEACHER OF DRAMA AND THEATRE STUDIES

Required for September 2017

Part Time, Fixed Term

We wish to appoint a dynamic and inspirational Teacher of Drama and Theatre Studies for a 12 month period. The successful candidate will be required to teach Year 7 and 8, with the possibility for teaching some pupils from Year 9. There would also be the expectation that appointees would be willing to support rehearsals, workshops and theatre visits.

The Drama and Theatre Studies Department is an ambitious and thriving creative department. This post is an exciting opportunity for a candidate to contribute to what is an important part of our school life.

St Albans High School for Girls is a highly academic girls’ independent day school set in the heart of St Albans, with very good transport links to central and outer London.

This post is offered on a part time basis. We welcome applications from experienced teachers or NQTs. We are also equally happy to consider applications from those without professional qualifications in teaching, if they are well qualified in drama (or a related field). We are committed to developing and promoting our staff and have an excellent CPD and support programme for new staff and those wishing to progress their career.

Details of the role and application process are available on the school’s website www.stahs.org.uk/Vacancies.

The High School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
