Chiltern Hills Academy invites applications for the opportunity to join the staff of a successful, mixed 11-18 Church of England Academy in Chesham, Buckinghamshire; conveniently situated at the end of the London Underground Metropolitan Line.

Do you want to work in a supportive, friendly environment where staff are valued and students want to learn?  Due to an increase in student numbers, we are seeking to appoint a talented, dynamic full-time Drama teacher from September 2019.  The successful candidate will be teaching Drama to GCSE, A Level and BTEC and the ability to teach dance and/or music would also be desirable.

Our Performing Arts department is housed in a purpose-built block with superb state-of-the-art facilities.  The school believes that a broader balanced curriculum is vital and ensures that students have access to a range of creative subjects.  As a result, the school is well-known locally for the high standards of its dance, drama and music.

This post requires an enthusiastic, hardworking and conscientious individual with a strong track record who can communicate his/her passion for the performing arts through innovative, diverse and exciting teaching methods. Chiltern Hills Academy offers excellent continuous professional development opportunities.

Applications from NQTs, experienced teachers or those returning to the profession will be welcome.  We are committed to the development our staff; to support them to further their career, progress professionally and develop their teaching and leadership skills.

We are about to embark on the next stage of our school development to accommodate growing numbers and add to our well-resourced teaching environment. “Leaders know their school well” our OFSTED inspection recognised (February 2017) and further judged the school to be ‘good’ in all categories. “Staff, pupils and parents fully support the headteacher’s vision and would recommend this school to other parents”. “Pupils have embraced the school’s values and ethos. As a result they behave well in lessons and the school is calm and orderly.

We would be pleased to show prospective applicants around the Academy.  Please contact Mrs W Sanders (PA to Principal).  Details of the post are on our website together with an application form to download.  Please send your application to Mrs Sanders at wsanders@chacademy.co.uk and include a letter and CV.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment.  All staff appointments are subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.

Closing date for applications: 12.00pm, Friday 22 March 2019
