TEACHER OF DRAMA

Required September 2018

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Are you passionate about drama and about how to engage young people so they achieve their very best? Do you enjoy working with others to ensure the highest standards of teaching and learning in drama?

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher or NQT to join our highly committed, supportive and experienced drama department.  Our Drama department is well resourced, with a large studio and two specialist drama rooms as well as a main hall with stage and lighting and sound equipment.  All of our teaching staff are provided with their own laptop.

The successful candidate will want to bring their passion and enthusiasm for drama to encourage, motivate and engage our students from Year 7 to Year 13, and continue to raise standards in this high performing area.  We currently teach GCSE Drama and BTEC L3 Acting.

Drama colleagues collaborate with music, media studies and art for productions and other activities and we are interested in receiving applications from drama teachers with skills in dance/choreography, music or lighting and sound.  A commitment to extra-curricular productions and theatre trips is essential.

Our oversubscribed school achieved a ‘GOOD’ rating in its Ofsted inspection in February 2017 and we have a commitment to supporting students in developing as well-rounded individuals as well as achieving their academic potential. Staff morale is high.

Great Baddow High School is very well thought of locally.  Our motto, which translates as ‘always striving for higher things’ encapsulates our vision for our students and staff.

Pre-application visits are warmly encouraged particularly during the working day in order to view our students and teachers working together in well-equipped, specialist classrooms, using modern technologies and resources.  A school tour will take place on Wednesday 28th March at 9am, please email recruitment@gbhs.co.uk to book a place.

Please apply by downloading the application form or alternatively contact Yvette DeFeo on 01245 293711 or email on recruitment@gbhs.co.uk please leave your name, address, telephone number and email details.
