Job overview

Teacher of Drama with English to KS3

Full time from September 2017

We are looking for an exceptional Teacher of Drama with a dynamic and inspirational approach to teaching.  As a well-qualified graduate with the ability to teach up to A2, you will enable all pupils to reach their potential, and challenge our most able of students.

The integrated English and Drama Department aims to maintain its record of academic success, and to continue its lively contributions to the cultural life of the school.  Most members of the Department teach across a variety of age groups, from Year 7 to the Sixth Form.  There is a dynamic working atmosphere in the Department and it has traditionally allowed its members some autonomy in teaching an agreed and regularly revised internal syllabus.

The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to and/or develop activities in which the Department is involved; these include directing school plays, editing the arts magazine and participation in our Shakespeare, Poetry and Prose Festivals.

The school reserves the right to interview and appoint at any stage during the recruitment process.

GHS is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all who work at the School to share this commitment.  Successful applicants will be subject to child protection screening appropriate to the post including an enhanced disclosure through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and checks with previous employers.
