Kettlethorpe High School is a unique institution – and not just because we are a true comprehensive and the last non-academy school in Wakefield. It’s due to the dynamism and passion of our pupils, who love to get involved in everything we do.

We are a large and popular maintained school in Wakefield, often oversubscribed and are currently planning for a larger cohort entry that will see new capital building work and a potential 11-16 roll of 1,800 pupils.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational teacher to join our DT/Art department. 

Our DT/Art department has performed consistently above the national average in all examinations delivered. The department thrives on excellent planning and teamwork, delivering a knowledge-rich curriculum in well-resourced classrooms. 

Joining us, you will be part of a team that has a variety of specialised teachers, all offering support and guidance to each other, which creates a positive and hardworking ethos. They go above and beyond to ensure all students achieve.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic candidate to deliver DT to pupils at GCSE level. The successful candidate may also be required to contribute to the teaching of other DT disciplines within Key Stage 3.

Students at Kettlethorpe High show real enthusiasm for DT, and the subject is regularly oversubscribed at GCSE. As a result of this, you will be joining a department that achieves results consistently above the national average and strives to maintain this while developing students’ skills and a passion for the subject.

• High standards of teaching and learning
• A good degree in a specialist subject teaching qualification
• Flexibility to teach varied DT subjects at year 7 and year 8
