The International School of Modena is seeking to appoint a qualified and experienced early years classroom teacher to support our strong and highly successful Early Years team. As an IB continuum school, the IB Primary Years Programme represents the curriculum framework. The school also has a unique relationship with the nearby Loris Malaguzzi International Centre for Childhood in Reggio Emilia and the Reggio Emilia Approach to Early Years Education informs and inspires the approach to learning and teaching in practice.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Candidates should be well-qualified, committed to high standards, interested in using innovative approaches to teaching and learning and enthusiastic about promoting international understanding.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:


The candidate must possess the following experience, skills and knowledge: 

  • To be in possession of a university degree in a related subject and an appropriate teaching qualification in one of the following: 
  • Five-year Laurea Magistrale Scienze della Formazione Primaria, which is integrated with a specialisation course in Early Childhood education, 
  • B.Ed/BA,BSc in Primary Education with specialisation in Early Years and where age group is clearly stated on certification, eg. B.Ed Primary (3-12, 4-12), BA/Bed, BSc. 
  • Early Years Education, Undergraduate Degree and PGCE/PGDE Primary (3 or 4 to 12 clearly stated)   
  • Recent experience in teaching Early Years (ages 3-5) 
  • To be an EU passport holder or already be in possession of a valid visa that enables to work in Italy 
  • To have an excellent command of the English language (an understanding of Italian is also desirable) 
  • Established experience with a passion for teaching and the ability to provide an inspiring education 
  • An interest in concept-based curriculum and learning through inquiry 
  • To have a strong interest in curriculum development and authentic evaluation of learning 
  • To demonstrate ability in engaging with pupils and teaching staff, always maintaining a high standard of work 
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills

The International School of Modena is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational independent all-through school  in Italy, serving students from the age of 2-18. The all-through school, situated in Montale Rangone, Modena, has approximately 240 students on record.
