Job overview
Teacher of Economics and Business Studies
From September 2019
We are looking for an ambitious graduate with an excellent academic background to join a large and active department. Experience of Economics and Business A Levels, IGCSEs, and the Business BTEC is desirable, but the successful candidate may not necessarily be required to be involved in all areas. On the other hand, there may be an opportunity to take the lead on one or more of these qualifications. They will relish the opportunity to be involved in the wider life of a busy boarding and day school. We will welcome applications from a wide range of backgrounds: candidates new to the profession, and experienced and/or qualified teachers should all consider the role.
Part time applications may also be considered.
Clifton College is a large independent day and boarding school in Bristol with over 1300 pupils aged 2 to 18, two large commercial sports facilities, a commercial theatre and over 600 staff.
A DBS disclosure (enhanced) will be requested for all successful applicants. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.
Clifton College is an equal opportunities employer.

Clifton College leads the way as one of the best Public Boarding Schools in the country. We offer day places, flexi and full boarding places. Welcoming boys and girls from 2 to 18, Clifton becomes the school every pupil needs it to be, preparing them for life in the real world, not in a ‘bubble’. We are known for academic excellence, myriad opportunities, state of the art facilities, superb pastoral care and expert staff who deliver the very best learning and development. We provide a richly diverse and connected school environment, representative of the real world. Our pupils mature into individuals who are ambitious, open-minded and spirited.
Bristol businessman Dr John Percival, who championed the benefits of science, diversity and the education of women, founded Clifton College in 1862. The College has since fostered the talents of students including General Douglas Haig and Olympic hockey gold medallist Lily Owsley. The NSPCC had its first meeting on the school’s grounds.
Clifton College Upper School is housed in historical buildings, such as the Grade II-listed Percival Library, but it boasts state-of-the-art sporting facilities, including 24 tennis courts and an Olympic-standard hockey pitch.
